"The Village"

The friendly village atmosphere is a refreshing change from the often densely populated impersonal life of the suburbs, whilst the community atmosphere provides a sense of security, allowing for peace of mind and a relaxing lifestyle.

Homes are owner occupied with only permanent residents residing in the Village. Holiday homes are not acceptable.

Gardening Heaven

Large gardens are not necessary due to the landscaped grounds within the village, yet it is inspiring to see the wonderful gardens residents have created. The soil is fertile rich, black loam (the area was once a market garden) and for those who enjoy gardening it is heaven. Plants grow so well even the "brown thumb" gardener can create a flower garden to be proud of.

The gardening enthusiasm and community spirit of the residents led to the first Village Garden Day when along with the extensive Village gardens, the residents open their own private gardens to the public. Now a much anticipated local event, the Garden Day is held annually, with all money raised going to the local Pambula District Hospital.

With such great soil, growing vegetables was a natural progression and our community vegetable garden is the pride and joy of our village.

Operating on the old fashioned 'allotment system', each gardener can grow their own vegetables for their own needs. The garden is the place to meet and talk, swap ideas and sometimes a few vegies as well. But it's the taste of those home grown vegetables that we enjoy the most.
