Who owns the homes at Acacia Ponds?

You purchase your own home which is then sited on land rented from Acacia Ponds.

Are there any restrictions on the type of house?

To preserve standards and the aesthetics of our village, and to maintain the investment of our current and future residents, we prefer to limit the style of manufactured homes we accept.

Who is responsible for the maintenance of my home?

Your responsibilities are to maintain the interior and exterior of your home and site. The management looks after the common grounds.

Can I have a garden shed, garage or carport?

Yes, providing the design and size is acceptable to local council and meets the village building codes.

Can I have visitors?

Yes, there is no charge for visitors.

What security of tenure do I have?

The law requires that a permanent resident in a residential park and the park owner sign a Residential Site Agreement. The Office of Fair Trading administers the laws which set out the rights and responsibilities of residents and residential park owners. Further details and a booklet explaining the laws is available from our office or the Office of Fair Trading.

Where is the nearest medical service?

Pambula Hospital and the community health centre are just 2 km south at Pambula. The Bega District Hospital is the Regional Hospital for the South East and is 28 km North. Bega Valley Day Surgery Private Hospital is also at Bega. Extensive medical services, doctors, specialists, dental, optical etc are available both in Merimbula and Bega.
